I’m legitimately wondering if there’s any reason a neovagina has to look especially realistic since it’s not like I’m gonna be seeing it all the time and genitals aren’t super aesthetic anyway so maybe I can get a discount if the doctor doesn’t have to like perfectly craft every fold of the vulva, like it’s not gonna be particularly deep or wide for me anyway, just gimme something that’s works and is easy to clean and knock a few bucks of the price, I’m not asking for Michaelangelo’s labia or anything y'know, I appreciate maybe the doctor won’t give me teeth or tentacles down there but at the same time I’m not going to get into a relationship with someone if they feel like they gotta conduct a 120 point snatchspection just to confirm my cunt meets the fuckability codes, I’m sure as shit not pushing babies out it and there’s no reason to overcomplicate taking a wee, so why not go for something a little more aerodynamic and low rez right?
this is the sort of post that terfs screen capture and go apeshit over
I don’t think Michaelangelo would be good at crafting vaginas anyway
You come in here, on the day of my cousin’s daughter’s aunt’s roommate’s best friend’s wedding, on this day you come to me and be funnier on my own post.

Have you ever had a period where nothing you drew came out right to you? I felt like I was improving and suddenly it was like everything I learned vanished and I couldn’t draw anymore! It’s so frustrating because everyone else makes drawing look so easy and meanwhile I’m here suddenly struggling with even basic poses and I feel like I’m back to square one?? Is that a thing that happens? I’m honestly freaking out because art is so important to me and to not be able to do it well now really hurts.
oh absolutely. i feel that way most of the time lol.
it sounds like what you’re experiencing is a very real thing that every single creative person goes through, which i’ve heard referred to as “the gap” or “taste vs skill disparity”. there’s a nice little video here that explains it quite clearly: https://vimeo.com/85040589 but i’ll discuss the point as well.
there comes a time in your creative journey where you become really good at looking at art and you have good taste. you have expectations for what you want your art to look like, but your current skill level cannot currently meet your expectations. the only way to close the gap between your expectations vs your skill is to keep working hard and improving. if you do, eventually you’ll meet those expectations and see objective improvement.
but then your taste moves up again, and you get better at scrutinizing your own art, and you’re able to see what you need to do to improve more. so the gap comes back! and it keeps coming back endlessly, but that’s a good thing! that’s how you improve. if you become complacent with your work, you never want to improve and you never get any better. the good news is that the further along you are on your journey, the less mortifying and frustrating it becomes because your taste and observation skills become so finely tuned that you can easily figure out what you need to do to improve.
it’s impossible to “lose” skill once you have it. you didn’t go back to square one or forget how to draw, your taste just went up a level and now your skill has to catch up :) if poses are a tough spot for you, i recommend doing a lot of anatomy studies, life drawings, and master copies to train yourself. it can take a while! but try not to panic. again, it is impossible to lose skill you already have. anecdotally, there were people i knew as a teenager who used to draw and then stopped for like a decade. when i see their art now, they picked up exactly where they left off. it’s wild. your brain remembers. just relax and have fun studying! i’ll be practicing with you, my poses need work too hahaha.
